Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf on Monday has shared another post, pointing blames at the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif led government. In the social media post, he has made explanation about how Adolf Hitler used arson to crush his opponents.
While sharing the post, he has alleged that the government of Pakistan is also currently engaging into similar acts and are using the similar tricks.
It is to be mentioned that, PTI Chief Imran Khan in the social media post, added that, “How Hitler used arson (as justification) to crush his opponents (communists)! A similar trick is now being played in Pakistan too.”
At the same time, via the social media post, he has also shared the entire Reichstag Fire, which stated that, “On February 27, 1933, the Parliament of German (Reichstag) building burned down. The Nazi leadership and its coalition partners used the fire to claim that Communists were planning a violent uprising. They claimed that emergency legislation was required to prevent this. The resulting act, which is commonly known as the Reichstag Fire Decree, abolished a number of the constitutional protections as well as also paved the way for Nazi dictatorship.”
Key facts
– Implemented one day after the fire, the decree suspended the freedom of speech, right to assembly, freedom of the press, along with other constitutional protections, including all restraints on police investigations. It remained in effect until the Nazi Germany was defeated in the May 1945.
– The decree has permitted the regime to arrest as well as incarcerate political opponents without any specific charge, to dissolve political organizations, as well as to confiscate private property.
– The decree also gave provided the regime the authority to overrule state and local laws as well as overthrow state and local governments.
