The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, during the past week, held a high-level review meeting on peace and security. During the meeting, PM Sharif held discussions on several subjects of national concern, including ongoing instability.
Noting to which, PM Sharif added “Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that May 9, 2023, will always be remembered as a black day in the history of the country. The evil elements have done what the enemy could not do in the last 75 years.”
He said that, “Just as the terrorists burnt down the Quaid-e-Azam Residency in Ziarat, similarly the sanctity of Jinnah House Lahore was violated. Look at the misfortune of this country that PTI workers attacked GHQ and burnt Radio Pakistan Peshawar to ashes. It is not a joke that the Air Force installations are attacked and properties worth billions of rupees are damaged. Imran Niazi’s group reaches Mianwali and destroys the aircrafts which were bought with the blood and sweat of the nation to be used against the enemy. Make a cynical attempt at burning.”
At the same time, PM Sharif highlighted that, “the planners, facilitators and attackers of May 9 will be brought to book.”
During the meeting, PM Sharif has also directed that the legal requirements should not be ignored in haste, in the process identifying the attackers. He also asked authorities to ensure that no innocent person shall get caught, adding that, The services of NADRA and security agencies should be hired so that the cordon can be tightened against the evil elements as soon as possible.”
Considerably, he said that, “today every patriotic Pakistani is sad. They attacked the civilian and military installations of the enemy. The role of the Police, IIB, NADRA, CTD, Federal Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Safe City has been commendable in dealing with this situation.”
He also made directions to the IG Punjab to arrest those who are trying to break the law and also to complete the case, adding that “The progress in the cases should be monitored on an hourly basis.”
