Roseau, Dominica: Melissa Poponne Skerrit- Parliamentary Representatives for Roseau Central Constituency shared glimpses of the creole Friday. She said that the creole wear in the city was massive success.
Melissa Skerrit said,”Today was the first friday of the creole season and you did not disappoint!! Everyone was representing in so many unique ways! Look out for my team every Friday this month. I am eagerly awaiting the beautiful cultural dresses and outfits.”
She also shared glimpses of the part 2 of the creole wear in the city. Every Friday for this month, Dominica will be out and about to see people in their cultural wear.
Dominica opened the 2023 Creole Season with exciting events such as World Creole Music Festival. The creole Friday of the 2023 Independence season featured the citizens on the road in their exceptional wear.
Melissa Skerrit also invited the patrons to celebrate Jounne Panyen- Basket Day in Dominica.

Dominica World Creole Music Festival
Dominica is all set to celebrate World Creole Music Festival 2023 as part of the Creole Season. It will feature exciting lineup of the artistes for three nights of pulsating rhythms. The three nights will be filled with excitement, vibrancy and the Caribbean culture.
The event will feature several artistes such as Michele Henderson who is a is a mother, singer-songwriter from The Nature Island and the composer of the CARICOM Anthem. With years of musical experience under her belt, she has performed internationally among other events.
As a native of Dominica and an official Goodwill Ambassador to Dominica, Michele has produced 6 solo albums and is well known for her Creole music repertoire with iconic songs such as “Home” and “Domnik Vivan” featuring Skinny Bantan.
