Castries, Saint Lucia: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture & Information Ernest Hilaire announced that Saint Lucia will host this year’s edition of the World Travel Awards Caribbean & The Americas Gala Ceremony 2023.
He said this year is also the 30th anniversary of the World Travel Awards. It is an esteemed honour to host the awards for which we have won Caribbean’s Leading Honeymoon Destination on countless occasions and, for the first time last year, Caribbean’s Leading Adventure Destination.
“We cannot underestimate the impact that tourism has on our economy, so let us continue to build and develop a tourism industry that is inclusive and beneficial to all,” said the deputy prime minister.
The event will be held at Sandals Grande Saint Lucian and form the climax of World Travel Week 2023. It will be a week-long celebration with a series of events, such as the gathering of the tourism industry’s thought leaders. The event will also feature a discussion and debate on the major issues concerning the tourism industry. On the eve of the World Travel Awards winner’s ceremony, they will also host the President’s reception.
The founder of World Travel Awards, Graham Cooke, expressed pleasure and stated that Saint Lucia had remained a great helping hand for the significant recovery of travel and tourism in the Caribbean.
Saint Lucia offers breathtaking views and magnificent beauty with volcanic mountains magically rising from the clear blue sea, paradise beaches, lush forests and rich cultural heritage and is widely blessed by nature.
Deputy Prime Minister Ernest Hilaire stated they are very excited to host the prestigious World Travel Awards Caribbean & The Americas Gala Ceremony 2023 and join forces with the global travel and tourism industry to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the World Travel Awards.
He added that the impact travel and tourism have on our island’s economy cannot be overstated.
