The Prime Minister of Pakistan, on Thursday has made an announcement via his official social media handle about the review meeting regarding the international conference “Resilient Pakistan”, which is to be held in Geneva in the coming month. The conference will be held under the chairmanship of Pakistani PM Shehbaz Sharif.
During the meeting with the party officials of Pakistan as well as other senior officials, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has asked the officials as well as directed them to finalize the agenda of the conference on a priority basis.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, stated that, “Over hundreds of lives and billions of dollars were lost this year, which is a direct result of the climate change in Pakistan. Rehabilitation of flood victims as well as reconstruction of damaged infrastructure is one of the major challenges for a developing nation like Pakistan.”
At the same time, he further added that, “As per the promise made by me, as a servant of Pakistan, I will not sit down from China until the last flood affected person is rehabilitated.”
He said that next month in Geneva, the call of the flood victims would once again be conveyed to the whole world.
Moreover, during the meeting, proposals, as well as the comprehensive plans of action regarding the conference held in Geneva, were presented to the meeting. Whereas, the meeting was also informed that the participation of the friendly nations, as well as development partners along with the international financial institutions, is also expected in the conference.
At the time of the meeting, Federal Ministers Ishaq Dar, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Ahsan Iqbal, Sherry Rehman, Maryam Ongzeib, Ministers of State for Foreign Affairs Henna Rabbani Khan, Special Assistants Syed Tariq Fatemi, Jahanzeb Khan, Syed Fahad Hussain as well as relevant senior officials were also present alongside the meeting.
