The Pakistani defence forces on Tuesday has conducted an intelligence-based operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district. Result of the operation, Pakistani forces killed two terrorists.
The information about the above mentioned has been shared by the media affair wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to the information, “During the conduct of the operation, intense fire exchange took place between own troops and terrorists as a result of which two terrorists were sent to hell, including the terrorist ring leader Ayubullah Mansoor.”
Information further added that the weapons, ammunition, and explosives were also recovered from the militants who remained actively involved in the number of terrorists activities, including the targeted killing as well as the extortion and the kidnapping of the innocent civilians.
The details further added that, “Sanitisation operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area. Locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of the terrorism.”
It is to be noted that, the action comes a day after 10 police officials were martyred and six others were wounded in an attack by the dozen of militants on a police station in the Dera Ismail Khan, as violence escalated ahead of the general elections this week.
Notably, Pakistan is continuing to experience spike in the terrorist activities during the previous year, mainly across the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Even during the past week, at least 10 bombs as well as grenade attacks took place across Balochistan, including the provincial capital Quetta. Several police stations and the deputy commissioners’ offices were targeted in the attacks in which six people, including a police officer and a jail warden, were injured.
The uptick in the terror activities and the increase in crime rate day before the February 8 elections clearly shows the negligence of the intelligence and defense forces in curbing the crime rate and intercepting the terrorists activities.
