Multiple bomb and grenade attacks have rocked the entire state of Balochistan. The explosions have taken place on Thursday at different areas across Balochistan.
The information about this had been comfirmed by the SSP Operations, Quetta, Jawad Tariq.
He said that, “At least 10 bomb as well as grenade attacks took place across Balochistan, including the provincial capital Quetta. Several police stations and the deputy commissioners’ offices were targeted in the attacks in which six people, including a police officer and a jail warden, were injured.”
It is to be noted that, the blasts had claimed life of one person, identified as 84-year-old Abdul Khaliq Shah.
The police had reached the spot of the explosion and shifted the body to civil hospital.
SSP Tariq, while adding further to this, said that, “Around 8kg of explosive was used in the improvised explosive devices (IED).”
Notably, this has posed big failure to the Pakistani forces and troops, who are continuously ensuring about the peaceful elections. Despite their statement about police on high-alert before the election, these attacks are unfolding up several loopholes, which the authorities needs to address.
Whereas, in another attack near the outskirts of Quetta, an Assistant sub-inspector (ASI), Ghulam Raza, was injured. Some of the unknown attackers had attacked the Shalkot police station with the hand grenade, which exploded in the courtyard.
The attack resulted in damaging the building of the station and some of the vehicles in the parking area.
At the same, the central prison in Mastung, was also attacked by the hand grenades, which exploded inside the jail, resulting in damaging the building.
Following the attacks, the government of Balochistan has tightened security in all cities and towns across the province.
The Election Commission of Pakistan said it had taken notice of the attacks and sought detailed reports from the Balochistan inspector general of police and chief secretary.
