The Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwar ul Haq Kakar, on Wednesday held meeting with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission Chief for Pakistan, Nathan Porter and IMF Resident Representative for Pakistan Esterh Perez Tuiz.
During the meeting, the IMF Mission Chief for Pakistan, Nathan Porter, and IMF Resident Representative for Pakistan, Esther Perez Tuiz informed PM Kakar about the status of the talks that were held at the technical levels with the team of the Government of Pakistan under the First Review of the SBA.
The details about the above mentioned has been shared by the Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwar ul Haq Kakar, via his official social media handle.
Alongside, IMF Mission Chief for Pakistan, Nathan Porter has acknowledged the efforts made by the Government of Pakistan in meeting the various program quarterly targets. Noting to which, he stated that, “These efforts have resulted in positive conclusion of the technical level talks.”
Moreover, he stated that, “Both the teams have had extensive talks on various aspects of the SBA. He appreciated the role played by the Finance Minster and her team and Governor SBP along with his team in technical level talks.”
At the same time, PM Kakar, also expressed gratitude towards the IMF team for its ongoing work with the Pakistan and praised the leaders of the Minister for Finance and the Revenue and the contribution of her team in taking the program ahead.
It is to be hereby added that, PM Kakar also extended appreciation to the Governor, State Bank of Pakistan. The Prime Minister reaffirmed the Government’s enduring commitment to the reform efforts agreed with the IMF as these are aimed at stabilizing the economy of Pakistan in the long run.
Meanwhile, Minister of Finance, Governor State Bank of Pakistan, Chairman Federal Board of Revenue, and senior government officials also attended the meeting.’
