The Chairman of the Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaaf, Imran Khan, on Tuesday has made an announcement of the official launching of a ‘Jail Bharo’ movement, which begins on Wednesday in the city of Lahore. At the launching ceremony, Khan has blamed the incumbent coalition government of the “political victimization” of his party leaders and allies.
Following the launching of the Jail Bharo Campaign in Lahore, PTI Chairman, Imran Khan said that, “Today we are starting our Jail Bharo Campaign for Haqeeqi Azadi (Actual Freedom) for two major motives and reasons.”
While noting to the motive behind the starting of the Jail Bharo Campaign, Khan added that, “One, it is a peaceful, non violent protest against the attack on our constitutionally guaranteed fundamental rights. We are facing sham FIRs as well as NAB cases, attacks on journalists, social media people, along with custodial torture.”
At the same time, while highlighting the second major reason behind this Jail Bharo campaign, PTI Chief Khan noted that, “Secondly, it is against the economic meltdown that has been brought on by cabal of crooks who have money laundered over billions in looted wealth as well as gotten NROs for themselves while crushing public mainly the poor as well as middle class, under the burden of spiralling inflation along with increasing unemployment.”
It is further noted that, PTI Chief has also appealed people of Pakistan on Tuesday, before the launching of the Jail Bharo Campaign. In a video, posted by Imran Khan on his official social media handle, Khan appealed that, “I am appealing to people of Pakistan that for haqeeqi azaadi (Actual freedom), please take part in Jail Bharo campaign. In fact, it will take you to the level where you can feel independent and a prosperous nation. And it can only be achieved when one government will protect and safeguard the fundamental rights of the people. Moreover, I am hoping that as fast as people get aware of it, as fast as we can bring independence and prosperity into Pakistan.”
