St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis- Dr Terrance Drew attended the launch ceremony of plastic recycling bin programme at the Deane Glasford Primary School in St Peter’s on Monday, February 27, 2023.
The programme was launched under the wider “Solid Waste Management and Recycling Project”.
While takin to social media, PM Terrance Drew stated, “Earlier today, I joined the Minister of Environment and Climate Action, the Honorable Dr Joyelle Clarke, and His Excellency Michael C. H. Lin, Resident Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, for the launch of the plastic recycling bin programme at the Deane Glasford Primary School in St. Peter’s. This programme falls under the wider “Solid Waste Management and Recycling Project”.
The Ministry of Environment, in partnership with the Taiwanese Technical Mission, launched the plastic bin recycling programme at the Dean Glasford Primary School.
Prime Minister and Parliamentary Representative for the St. Peter’s community, Dr Terrance Drew; Minister of Environment and Climate Action, Dr Joyelle Clarke, as well as His Excellency Michael C. H. Lin, Resident Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis were on hand to witness the introduction of the initiative in the school.
Dean Glasford Primary is now the sixth primary school where plastic recycles bins are installed. The other schools are St. Paul’s Primary School, Cayon Primary, Sandy Point Primary, Edgar T. Morris Primary and the Bronte Welsh Primary Schools.
Minister of Environment and Climate Action Dr Joyelle Clarke also took to Facebook and shared glimpses of the project. He stated, “The recycling awareness campaign continues at the Dean Glasford Primary School this morning. I was joined by the Honourable Prime Minister as well as The Taiwanese Ambassador to communicate a general reminder of the importance of recycling.”
