A massive fire broke has been reported at The Children’s Hospital in Gulberg, Lahore in Pakistan, on Saturday.
As per reports, the rescue officials confirmed the information about the incident related to huge fire. The fire suddenly erupted in the pharmacy storage on the third floor, where medicines worth millions were burnt to ashes.
Whereas, no life casualties have been reported so far in the incident. While the rescue operation was going on, the officials have completely evacuated the whole building.
As per the Fire Department, around seven (7) fire engines have been dispatched to control the fire. At the same time, additional fire engines have been called to help control upon the fire.
As per the statement, over 40 firefighters from Fire Department and Rescue 1122 have been deployed at the incident site to control the situation. According to the officials, the main reason is unknown, the cause will be investigated once the fire has been completely put out.
On Wednesday, one person was killed, & three others fell unconscious after a fire incident was reported in the basement of a departmental store which is near Jail Chowrangi in Karachi.
As per the statement given by Station House Officer (SHO) Arshad Janjua of Ferozabad Police Station, “The person killed in the fire was an employee of the store, while among the other three who were unconscious was a firefighter.”
As per the statement released by Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s (KMC) Chief Fire Officer Mubeen Ahmed that 11 fire tenders which belongs to the corporation, two(2) water bowsers along with one snorkel, 13 water tankers from the Karachi Water, as well as Sewerage Board and tenders from the Pakistan Navy participated in dousing the flames.
He said they had managed to control 70 per cent of the blaze by the evening. “However, officials are facing high difficulty as the fire erupted in the basement,” he added, stating that there were no entry or exit routes.
