The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, held a high level meeting on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and other projects under the Chinese investment. The meeting entirely took place under the chairmanship of PM Sharif.
During the meeting, PM Sharif, held talks on multiple subjects of concern. Of which, one was the PM Sharif’s big initiative to make Gwadar port fully operational.
PM Sharif made directions to import a certain proportion of domestic imports, mainly the goods that were imported by the government from the Gwadar port.
At the same time, he has also asked all the ministers to coordinate with each other for speedy implementation of CPEC Phase Two.
While talking further on this, PM Sharif said that, “Any kind of interruption in the work on CPEC phase two by the ministries and the government institutions is not acceptable.”
Noting further on this, he said that, “Foolproof security of Chinese residents should be ensured. China has been a long-standing friend of Pakistan, further promotion of trade and economic relations with China is welcome.”
“China and Pakistan economic partnership is at the highest level in the history, relevant officers and institutions should ensure that positive results are obtained for both the nations,” says PM Sharif.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, also highlighted the deep rooted ties between both the nations of China and Pakistan and also promised to continue to put in effort in order to bolster ties between both the nations.
Further elaborating on this, the meeting also held extensive discussion about the progress on the implementations of the CPEC.
Federal Ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Jam Kamal Khan, Ahad Khan Cheema, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Qaiser Ahmad Sheikh, Sardar Owais Khan Laghari, Dr. Mossadegh Malik, Abdul Aleem Khan, Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, Coordinator to Prime Minister Rana Ehsan Afzal were present in the meeting. And concerned high officials attended. The chief secretaries of the four provinces participated in the meeting through video link.
