The physical structure of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Karachi is completed. The following announcement has been made by the Chairman of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust and former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, via his official social media handle.
Chairman of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust, Khan, shared a photo of the hospital infrastructure along with the post, which reads as follows, “Physical structure of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre Karachi completed. Twice the size of the Lahore hospital, this will be Pakistan’s largest tertiary care, cancer hospital. Finishing work has commenced, and the hospital will open by December 2023, InshaAllah. We need your continuing support in order to complete the project on time, so that we can provide high-quality cancer care to the people of Karachi, interior Sind & Balochistan. I know I can rely on the people of Pakistan as always to see this through to completion.”
Meanwhile, several people have expressed their sentiments and also extended gratitude towards Former Prime Minister Imran Khan for executing plans towards building up the nation. A number of people reacted on the post, which reads as follows, “Very impressive. A great Man invests in people less fortunate. Imagine the impact on his life of prayers of those treated free.”
Whereas, several other comments reads as follows, “Mashallah so nice. i m a doctor. and we are waiting for like this constructive places in Pakistan. very happy. and very thankful God giving us some generous people in our country like you. who can think about the people of our country.”
At the same time, several other people reacted by stating that, “you are doing your best for our future and stability of Pakistan we are behind you Imran Khan we pray for you every day best of luck you are the last hope of Pakistan stay bless may Allah protect you from evil eye Ameen.”

It is located in DHA City of Karachi, which will be two times the size of the SKMCH and RC in Lahore & it is expected to be commissioned at overall entire cost of Rs. 22 billion.
The diagnosis of cancer is often a costly & arduous process, with many patients having to make repeated visits over long distances to seek treatment. Following successful completion of treatment, more visits for follow-up are needed that could last for years. The new hospital will benefit the people of Sindh & Balochistan who will have access to state-of-the-art as well as comprehensive cancer care closer to their homes.
