The prime minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mian Shahbaz Sharif, attended the opening ceremony of PS Khyber, the third of four-submarine corvette ship of the Pakistani navy at the port of Istanbul, Turkey.
PM Sharif acknowledged the support of the Turkish government and expressed that, “he was delighted and overwhelmed to visit his second home.”
He said, “it was another great day regarding historical ties, strengthening the relationship.”
Prime minister Sharif said that during the ceremony, he recalled the time and challenging circumstances during the 1920s.
He added that, “the struggle of Turkish people was assisted by the subcontinent Muslims along with mothers and sisters of the suburbs who collected their bangles, shopkeepers, farmers and students to help the Turkish brothers in the war for freedom.”
Furthermore, Sharif stated that, “their ancestors knew what they were tackling and that their efforts were worth it. PM said that the Turkish government has always stood by Pakistan in many challenging situations, such as earthquakes, floods and other natural calamities. Turkey has been the first to help our nation and never hesitated in the process and vice versa.”
Additionally, He noted that the efforts and sacrifices made by the Muslims of sub-continents are not added to the curriculums in the educational institutions, schools and universities of turkey.
Prime Minister Sharif further imaged Turkish President Rajab Tayyip Erdogan with respect and gratitude and called him a man of great vision and intellectual leadership, which made turkey a better place.
In praise of the Turkish president, Pm sharif added that the social welfare projects introduced by Rajab Tayyip, the people in remote and distinct areas are also getting results in various sectors, such as health, education, employment and agriculture facilities and industrial development.
At the opening ceremony of the 3rd submarine ship at Istanbul, PM said the ties and relationship between both nations are based on stability and peace. This association is not for aggression but for defence, yet we are always ready to support each other in difficult situations as necessary.
The PM credited the authorities and naval officers of both countries for increasing the productivity of the navy department. Furthermore, PM Sharif put some life into the conflicts that are going on in the world.
He spoke about the war between Ukraine and Russia and added that this could be seen as a threat to the world community. The President of Turkey has adopted an analytical and logical strategy in the war, which is commendable.
Moreover, PM said that Pakistan is a developing country and the support from turkey is immensely appreciated by us. He stated that the import bills of petrol, edible oil and food exceed 25 billion dollars.
Also, Pakistan is focusing on building its solar power, wind and water power generation and turkey possesses the techniques and capabilities in the sector, which is good news for us. Turkish investors are already involved in the projects, he stated.
Pakistan and Turkey must work together to succeed in various sectors while supporting each other and reducing gas emissions which are hazardous for both countries. PM stated that all the cooperation between both nations makes their relationships more meaningful and beneficial.
