The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif held meeting with the Chairman of Pakistan Business Council Muhammad Aurangzeb-led delegation in Karachi. The delegation of Pakistan Business Council (PBC) during the meeting has appreciated the efforts of the federal government for the economic recovery of Pakistan, especially during the last one year.
During the meeting, he paid tribute to the efforts of the government’s economic team under the leadership of the Prime Minister for the successful agreement of the government with the IMF. Furthermore, the delegation thanked the business community in Pakistan for always taking time and making their suggestions part of government policy.
It is to be noted that, while welcoming the suggestions of the Pakistan Business Council, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that, “The business community in Pakistan has always been a contributor to the socio-economic development of the country. During the last one year, due to the efforts of the coalition government, the risk of default faced by Pakistan has been averted. All the parties involved in the coalition government cooperated in every decision of the government which is commendable.”
He further added that, “The government of Pakistan is keen to restore the country’s economy through investment facilitation and business-friendly policies. Restoring the confidence of investors and the business community is our greatest achievement. Alhamdulillah, now the economy of Pakistan is moving towards development.”
At the same time, he assured that the government will not let the chance of the economic recovery, restoration of confidence of international partners, investors and business community be lost.
Notably, Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif said that, “A Special Investment Facilitation Council has been established for foreign direct investment in Pakistan. The business community not only provides employment opportunities in the country but also becomes a means of earning foreign exchange by increasing the country’s exports. You are all capable and courageous people who faced difficult situations in Pakistan. All your efforts and efforts are appreciated.”
It is to be specifically mentioned that, Federal Ministers Maryam Aurangzeb, Engineer Khurram Dastgir, Minister of State for Petroleum Dr. Mossadegh Malik, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori, State Bank Governor, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Members of Parliament and relevant senior officials participated in the meeting.
