The government of Pakistan has expressed disappointment on the United Nation Security Council’s failure to call for a ceasefire in Gaza. It is to be noted that, the information about the above mentioned has been shared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs via their official social media handle.
The statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, added that, “Pakistan is deeply disappointed that the UNSC has once again failed to call for a ceasefire in Gaza, even in the face of human tragedy of epic proportion taking place there.”
While expressing the disappointment on the failure of UNSC to call for a ceasefire in Gaza, the statement added that, “Despite the invocation of Article-99 of the UN Charter by the Secretary-General and his warnings of humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, the Council has failed to perform its primary responsibility to maintain international peace and security.”
They added that, “The collective punishment endured by the besieged people of Gaza is unprecedented and unacceptable.”
It is to be hereby added that, the continuous attacks showered by the Israeli forces in the occupied Palestine, is brining nothing but a spike in the number of casualties and making a catastrophe like situation.
The government of Pakistan, while reiterating their call for ceasefire in Gaza, mentioned that, “Continuation of Israel’s inhumane campaign in occupied Palestine, will prolong human suffering, with massive civilian casualties and forced displacement of millions of people. It could also trigger a wider and more dangerous conflict.”
In the statement shared, the government of Pakistan, also mentioned about those who has contributed to prolongation of the continuous bombing of Gaza. Noting to which, they added that, “A heavy responsibility rests on all who have contributed to the prolongation of uninterrupted bombing of the people of Gaza.”
Along with this, the government of Pakistan has also reiterated its call for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire to put stop on the humanitarian catastrophe. In the statement, they added that, “Israel must end its barbaric attacks and inhumane siege against Gaza. We urge the UNSC to act now, end this inhuman war and protect the people of Gaza from genocide.”
