Pakistan on Thursday has extended condemnation on Israel’s military operation against Lebanon, labelling it as a grave violation of UN Charter and international law.
The announcement about the above mentioned has been made by the Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. While elaborating Pakistan’s stance on Israel’s ongoing aggression against Lebanon, Foreign Office Spokesperson, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, reaffirmed Pakistan’s support towards Lebanon’s sovereignty.
She addressed the media on Thursday. Addressing on this issue, she said, “This dangerous escalation has further endangered peace and security in already volatile region. Pakistan reaffirm its unwavering support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
During the media address at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Baloch emphasized the ongoing violence in Gaza, blaming the Israeli occupation forces of committing grave violations of the international humanitarian law.
Baloch, while briefing the press conference, also mentioned about the recent return of a container with 88 decomposing bodies of Palestinians to Gaza. While condemning this act, she described the act as a violation of the basic human dignity and the international standards.
Spokesperson Baloch, during the conference, made a call to the international community for holding Israel accountable for its alleged war crimes and the crimes against humanity.
Elaborating more on this, she said, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif is right now in New York to attend the high-level meetings at the 79th United Nations General Assembly session.
During the meeting, PM Sharif has made a call for the urgent global support to help the developing countries escape the challenges of the debt traps and climate change related issues. He further emphasized on the need for bringing a reform into the global financial system to create more equitable environment for the vulnerable countries.
While addressing the media conference, she said that PM Sharif also took part in the meetings that are addressing the existential threat that has been posed by the rising sea levels and the UN Security Council’s debate on the leadership for peace.
