After receiving the clean chit from the court, the supremo for Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz, Nawaz Sharif, will be contesting elections for the National Assembly seat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s NA-15 (Manshera).
The confirmation about the above statement has been made by his son-in-law Captain Muhammad Safdar on Wednesday. He made the following statement while addressing the media outside the deputy commissioner’s office in Manshera.
Elaborating further on his statement, Captain Muhammad Safdar said that, “Nawaz Sharif will be our election candidate from NA-15 (Manshera-II). He will become the prime minister as an elected representative of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for addressing the province’s deprivation.”
Adding further on this, Captain Muhammad Safdar said that, “He had received the nomination papers for the former prime minister and would submit them today.”
He further said that, Amir Muqam would be the choice of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz for the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Whereas, his wife, Maryam Nawaz, is the party’s candidate for the Punjab CM Office.
Confirming more on this, Captain Muhammad Safdar said that, “A formal announcement in the above mentioned regard would be made later.”
It is to be hereby mentioned that, Captain Safdar, who had earlier contested polls from NA-15, said that, he will not going to contest the elections this time. Clarifying on this, he said that, he wanted to become a Senator this time and he added that he will never decline the offer from the party for a Senator ticket.
Along with this, it may be added here that the president for the PML-N, Shehabaz Sharif, is likely to submit his nomination papers from Lahore’s NA-123, PP-158, and PP-164 seats. He is also expected to file the papers from Karachi’s NA-242. Maryam Nawaz is likely to file the nomination papers for the NA-119 seat as well as the two PA seats in Lahore.
