The Chief of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Nawaz Sharif, on Saturday held meeting with the US Ambassador Donald Blome in Lahore. During the meeting, PML-N, supremo, Sharif held talks on the current political and economic landscape of the nation, along with highlighting the preparations made by the party for the upcoming election.
The meeting between Nawaz Sharif and US Ambassador Blome came alongside the Nawaz’s series of public gatherings that he is organizing mainly with a focus on the elections that are going to take place during next year.
As per the statement issued by the PML-N, the US envoy called on the party leader, and their talks were mainly with an emphasis on the significance of the relations between Pakistan and the United States.
The statement, further added that, “PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif shared his point on the political and economic situation in Pakistan, with a major focus on the party’s readiness for the upcoming elections.”
During the talks with the US envoy, the former Prime Minister added that, “the people of Pakistan would once again place their trust in the PML-N to navigate the country via the number of challenges it currently faces.”
The representatives of both the nations also held talks on the bilateral relations and the collaborations on the mutual multilateral concerns between Pakistan and US.
At the same time, the statement emphasized that both the leaders “acknowledged the significance of a steadfast and robust ties between both the countries.”
They mentioned about the significance of looking for the opportunities to bolster the cooperation and building the successful outcomes that underpin the firm bilateral relations between the US and Pakistan.
Not just limited to this only, Former Prime minister of Pakistan also held talks with US diplomat over several other issues including the trade, economy, climate change and the regional stability.
During the talks, PML-N supremo also lifted the issue of the “plight of innocent Palestinians who are being mercilessly killed by the indiscriminate Israeli bombs and the imposition of siege around Gaza.”
He called for an immediate end to hostilities and urgent provision of humanitarian and medical assistance to war-hit people.
