The Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), supremo Nawaz Sharif will likely to contest the upcoming general elections. The information about the above mentioned has been expressed by the PML-N as the party leaders are expecting that the cases will likely to go away within the two months.
While making the statement on the above mentioned, PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah said that, “Our supremo Sharif would not wait for by-polls to contest the elections and extended hope that cases against him would be decided before the February 8 elections.”
There had been talks going on among the party leaders that if Nawaz Sharif failed to get clean chit from court before February 8, he may contest by-polls and not the general elections, after clearing his name in the cases.
He further added that, “Shehbaz Sharif will remain the president, and the elder Sharif will continue to play his role in the current position.”
Meanwhile, PML-N leader Javed Latif has raised demand for the urgent hearing of pleas filed by Chief Nawaz Sharif.
Answering whether the PML-N would make any alliance with PML-Q in the upcoming polls, he said Nawaz Sharif would soon hold meeting with Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and discuss the case.
At the same time, Rana Sanaullah also recalled that his party was ready to talk with “PTI minus May 9 suspects.”
He also made a claim that the former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was not angry with the leadership.
In a press conference held on Thursday, PML-N leader Javed Latif has urged the judiciary to fix Chief Nawaz Sharif’s appeals in Al-Azizia and Avenfield corruption cases for hearing at the earliest.
He added that Nawaz Sharif and PTI Chief Imran Khan should get the justice before the polls, stating that, “If any of them is guilty of any offense, they should be punished.”
