“Legislation is the right of the Parliament, and all institutions should play their role within the limits set by the Constitution”, was the statement made by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif. The following statement has been made by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, during his conversations with the media personnel during his visit to London for attending the coronation ceremony of King Charles III.
It is to be specifically mentioned that, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, while talking to the media, said that, “legislation is the right of the Parliament and all institutions should play their role within the limits set by the Constitution as it is indispensable for the integrity and security of the country and the development and prosperity of the people.”
Notably, while talking to the media, PM Sharif said that, “the coalition government is trying its best to deal with the challenges, and Pakistan will come out of the difficulties.”
He added by saying that, “justice should be seen to be done, the betterment of the people and the country means that the system should be run according to the Constitution. Everyone has to play their role for the supremacy of the Constitution. Everyone has to respect the law and the Constitution.”
He said that Parliament’s right to legislate has been given in the Constitution and this right cannot be taken away, at this time Parliament is playing its effective role.
He said that the previous government targeted the opposition and jailed the opposition leaders in fabricated cases, the members of the opposition were oppressed, they were not spared even in sickness and women were arrested during the days of Eid. No one cared. Now others are getting fast bails in dozens of cases at once and it all shows a double standard which no one likes.
In response to a question, the Prime Minister said that record production of wheat was achieved this year due to better government policies.
