The Lakki Marwat police has prevented the possible militant attack on a police post in Shahtora Takhtikhel area of Naurang town.
According to the police official, “The police team deployed at the post were vigilant and they opened fire when they noticed the movements of the suspected militants via the night vision goggles.”
“The quick action by the police left the militants with no option other than to flee the area. Before launching an attack on the police installations, the militants would first take the position and then try to breach the police station or police post by using the light and heavy weapons,” said the police official.
The official, in the statement, further added that, “The law enforcers deployed at the police post in Shahtora Takhtikhel police post counter the possible terror bid before the assailants could launch their attack. After hearing the gunshots, local residents also came out of their houses to assist policemen.”
Police as well as the local people launched the search operation to locate the suspected militants in the region but there were no reports about any immediate arrest.
Meanwhile, the police on Wednesday has made claim of arresting the facilitator of hardened criminals in Shagai area of Lakki Marwat and seized arms and ammunition from him.
