The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mahmood Khan on Thursday has paid a one-day visit to Mansehra as well as Abbottabad districts. During the visit, CM Khan inaugurated projects worth billions of rupees & also laid foundation stones for several development projects.
CM Mahmood Khan has further launched the 10 Megawatt Jabori Hydropower Project, which will be finalized at the cost of Rs 3.7 billion, which will generate an overall annual income of Rs 38 crores. During the visit, he also laid the foundation stone of the 300 Megawatt Balakot Hydropower project, which will get complete in 7 years at the cost of Rs 95 billion & will generate an income of Rs 15 billion to the province on an annual basis.
CM Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also inaugurated a Trout Fish Hatchery at Tehsil Bafa Pakhal in the district of Mansehra, which is being completed at the cost of Rs 8.5 crore.
During the visit to the Abbottabad district, the CM laid the foundation stone of 5 different development projects. He made an official announcement about the launch of the construction work related to the 24.37 km long Thandiani Road rehabilitation & remodelling project, which will be completed at the cost of around 3 billion rupees.
The above-mentioned project is being constructed under the project of Integrated Tourism Development Project which added a rest area of 10 canals of land. CM Khan on the visit also laid the foundation stone for the enhancement of the District Headquarters Hospital, Abbottabad which will get complete at a cost of Rs 90 crore.
The hospital will have 215 beds,6 dispensary units, 6 dialysis units, and other facilities. To ensure the proper supply of clean drinking water to the Abbottabad city and adjacent areas, Chief Minister Mahmood Khan also laid the foundation stone for the maintenance of the water supply system & the establishment of a new water treatment plan to be built at a cost of 10.5 billion rupees.
These include two new water sources from Jinderbari and Pulkot, new water treatment plant at China, the establishment of 16 new surface reservoirs & the rehabilitation as well as the construction of a 193 km distribution network. These mega projects will get completed under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cities Improvement Project, which will benefit 36,000 families of Abbottabad City and adjoining areas.
