The Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwar ul Haq Kakar, held meeting with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev on Wednesday morning. It is to be noted that the meeting between both the leaders took place on the sidelines of the 16th Summit of Economic Cooperation Organization which is taking place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

During the meetings the leaders of both the nations have reviewed the progress in the bilateral ties mainly in the domain of trade, defense as well as the energy.
Noting to the details shared by the Caretaker PM Kakar, the post added that, “Constructive interaction with President @presidentaz of Azerbaijan on sidelines of #ECOSummit2023. Our trade, defence, and energy ties are growing. The launch of direct AZAL flights will bolster our connectivity. Together, we address global issues like Islamophobia and climate change.”
It is to be e specifically mentioned that the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwar ul Haq Kakar extended welcome and acknowledged the announcement of direct flight operations of Azerbaijan Airline (AZAL) to Pakistan terming it as a positive development in people-to-people exchanges and to advance two-way business tourism.
As per the details shared by the Prime Minister social media handle, the leaders of both the nations held discussion on the major challenges that both the nations are facing. The topics of the discussions mainly include the common challenges including the Islamophobia as well as the climate change and the critical role that the ECO is playing in promoting the regional cooperation along with the cooperative prosperity.
