Experienced finance associate Will Floersheimer boasts an impressive record of handling a $70 billion portfolio on behalf of a diverse array of public and private sector clients.
Although New York City is Will’s birthplace, most of his childhood was spent in Greenwich, Connecticut, a quaint suburb known for its serene atmosphere, gorgeous beaches, and thriving arts and culture scene. He fondly remembers family camping trips, holiday get-togethers like Halloween and New Years Day, and working various charity projects, and still considers Greenwich one of his favorite places to relax and unwind. While attending Brunswick Academy, an elite preparatory academy for boys, Will attained local acclaim due to his talent in lacrosse and played soccer and paddle tennis at the varsity level. However, he found his true passion in charity work, which continues to influence him to this day.
Will Floersheimer garnered numerous academic achievements during his high school years and developed a sincere dedication to languages and the humanities. He achieved fluency in Spanish and Italian and proudly received several awards for his accomplishments in the fields of philanthropy and language. Along with a group of close friends, he established the Blue Blazer Fund, a 501C-registered nonprofit organization. The group raised money for youth in Netanya, Israel by selling second-hand blazers and donating the proceeds. Will’s sales and fundraising efforts, along with success in receiving grants, allowed his group to collect $250,000 for Israeli youth. He combined this financial assistance with vital on-the-ground support, visiting Netanya and becoming personally involved in the lives of the Israeli youth his charity helped support. His commitment to philanthropy is renowned and continues to hold an essential place in his life.
After graduating with honors from Brunswick School, Will Floersheimer attended the University of Southern California’s distinguished Marshall School of Business. He continued playing lacrosse while earning his degree. Will also became involved in leadership roles within his fraternity, many of which included philanthropic efforts. He did not allow his summers to go to waste, choosing to apply for highly sought-after internships at two of New York’s most well-known financial institutions. He spent two summers with Van Eck Global, a commodity-focused firm that handles ETF/mutual funds, followed by a summer at Golden Tree Asset Management, where he learned how to operate hedge funds that help clients with poor credit. After making a significant impression while interning at JP Morgan Asset Management in San Francisco, he was offered a position there, giving him the chance to move home and to achieve his goal of working for a major bank.
While working at JP Morgan, Will Floersheimer served as a financial analyst, helping manage multi-asset portfolios on behalf of public and corporate-held pension funds. His knowledge, skill, and dedication quickly earned him a promotion, and he became an associate of the company. In this position, he was responsible for constructing a portfolio, appropriately allocating assets across markets, gathering new assets, advising clients with updates on their investments, as well as providing commentary on market conditions. He utilized the experience he gained during his internships to identify fundraising opportunities for philanthropic efforts on behalf of the company and its clients. During his time at JP Morgan, he became an integral component of the team and gained respect from supervisors and colleagues alike for his drive, maturity, and team mentality.
Will currently enjoys volunteering for The Lord’s Place in West Palm Beach, Florida, a social services organization that offers regular support and emergency services for individuals and families in the area who are experiencing homelessness. The goal of the organization is to provide compassionate care and client-focused services that give people the help they need to become self-sufficient. Will Floersheimer forms a crucial part of achieving this goal and volunteers frequently at Joshua Thrift Stores, a second-hand shop. There, he helps clients learn essential job skills, such as pricing donations, arranging inventory, and successfully conducting transactions with customers. He also participates in auctions held to raise funds for The Lord’s Place, helping to pre-select items for the auction, then leading the event itself with enthusiasm and warmth.
