The Vice Chancellor of the Government College University, Asghar Zaidi, on Saturday held a meeting with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan.
During the visit, Vice Chancellor of the Government College University Asghar Zaidi has expressed good wishes to former Prime Minister Khan for his speedy recovery.
Notably, PTI-Chief Imran Khan sustained bullet injury after a gunman opened fire on the container mounted truck which was carrying him during the long protest march in Punjab province of Pakistan.
Meanwhile, during the meeting, the Vice Chancellor of Government College University, Zaidi, discussed several issues of mutual concern with the former Prime Minister Khan.
The Vice Chancellor of GC University, Zaidi, has made an announcement about the implementation of PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s establishment of the Arshad Sharif School of Journalism.
Therefore, Vice Chancellor Zaidi announced about the conversion of the Media Studies Department of Government College University into the Arshad Sharif School of Journalism.
During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor of the Government College University, Asghar Zaidi has made an announcement that, “In the Arshad Sharif School of Journalism, special attention will be given to the teaching of investigative journalism as well as the journalistic values.”
At the same time, Asghar Zaidi further stated that, “A building of Arshad Sharif School of Journalism will also get constructed in the campus.”
Following the meeting with Vice Chancellor Asghar Zaidi, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman, Imran Khan welcomes the steps discussed by the Vice Chancellor of GC University.
Former Prime Minister Khan has further expressed thanks to the Vice Chancellor for raising the matter, which will directly benefit the young generation of the nation.
Chairman Khan further released directions to immediately restore the student unions across Punjab and also to prepare guidelines in this regard.
During the meeting, Khan said that, “The future of the country is directly connected with the students studying in the universities. In Pakistan, there is an urgent need to take all possible measures to make students aware of education.”
