St Kitts and Nevis: St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party extended condolences on the demise of Rudolph “Rudy” Morton. He was a staple of St. Peter’s life, as his supermarket was a place to shop and hang out before we caught the bus home.
Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis- Dr Terrance Drew mourned the loss of Rudy Morton. He said, “I met Cde Rudy in the 90s as a young man living in St. Peter’s.”
He was extremely compassionate, as he allowed many to come and go without paying when he knew that they had it rough. His kindness was noted as a sponsor for the St Peter’s football team many years ago. The members of that team still speak to it.
“As the years went by, I met him as a stalwart of the SKNLP. He never wavered in his support, whether in or out of government. On behalf of my family and I, as well as the Government and people of our beloved Federation and the SKNLP, I take this opportunity to extend my deepest condolences to his family and friends, “said the prime minister.
Geoffrey Hanely- Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis said that a piece of them dies each time they lose a loved one and when one of their notable stalwarts slip away, they are equally pained.
“That’s how we think as human beings when we lose a loved one and friend, however, I’m called to exalt God our healer and maker for giving us such an exceptional human being like Rudolph “Rudy” Morton who was rich with ideas, passionate to serve, and remained a stellar contributor of the SKNLP movement to the very end, “said the minister.
Geoffrey Hanely said that he is known this incredible human being for a very long time and there is a cloud of grief over all of them who knew the caliber of a man Rudy Morton was.
He said, “To Morton’s wife, children, loved ones and close friends, rest assured that an army of supporters are standing beside you and behind you. Be comforted by the wonderful memories of a life well lived.”
Samal Duggins- Minister of Agriculture of St Kitts and Nevis said,”I am deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Comrade Rudolph ‘Rudy’ Morton.”
He was a strong advocate for the St Kitts Nevis Labour Party and a cherished source of personal guidance and support. His passion and commitment have left an indelible mark.
