The Embassy of France in Pakistan, remembers the tragic life of people of Pakistan, who were left devastated by the floods that has taken place across major cities of the nation. The French Embassy in Pakistan took it to their official social media handle to share the photos of the above mentioned.
It is to be noted that, the French Embassy in Pakistan has dedicated the eve of World Humanitarian Day to the above mentioned, adding that, “On World Humanitarian Day, we remember the victims of the tragic floods in #Pakistan last year. #France was among the first countries to send its rescue and relief teams to the affected areas.”
Notably, along with this, the Embassy of France in Pakistan, also took it to their official social media handle to share the photos of the French official working in the flood-affected areas and helping people of Pakistan.
About 2022 Pakistan Floods
The floods across Pakistan took place from June to October 2022, which has killed 1,739 people and caused over $14.9 billion of damage and $15.2 billion of economic losses. Moreover, on August 25, Pakistan declared the state of emergency because of the flooding.
It is to be noted that, the floods in Pakistan were described as the worst in the history of the nation, as well as recorded as the one of the costliest natural disasters in the world history.
Along with this, the President of France, Emmanuel Macron has also promised to €10 million to support Pakistan after the last year’s devastating floods.
Noting to which, President Macron, said that, “France will take its responsibility by adding a new contribution of €10 million to this urgent call.”
It is to be specifically mentioned that, torrential rains as well as the devastating floods have left a third of Pakistan under the water since the mid of the June last year.
During which, over millions of acres of agricultural land were ruined, and over more than 2 million homes were damaged and destroyed.
