Pakistan: Shoaib Akhtar, a legendary fast bowler, visited Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium to express his support and backing for the Pakistan Cricket Team during the ongoing Test Series between Pakistan and England today.
He visited the venue to witness the game on the 5th day of the match, where England players managed to grasp the win by 74 runs in the end. It was the first match between nations out of three test matches.
As per the reports, the test match was an exciting and nail-biting contest played at Rawalpindi International stadium in which both teams showed great spirit towards the game. England won the toss, elected to bat first, and put on a massive total of 657 runs after getting all out and playing 101 overs.
The top three batters of the England lineup scored hundreds in the opening encounter. Jack Crawley scored 122 runs, along with Ben Ducket and Ollie Pope, who scored 107 and 108, respectively. Moreover, an innings of massive 153 runs came from the bat of Harry Brook in the middle order.
On the other hand, Pakistan managed to put up a double hundred partnership for the first wicket, with right-handed Opening batsman Abdullah Shafique scoring 114 runs alongside 121 of left-handed Pakistani opener Imam-ul-Haq, followed by a hundred from the Pakistani skipper Babar Azam where he scored 136 runs coming down the middle order.
Furthermore, in the second innings, England declared their innings on 264 runs with seven batters back in the pavilion after they got a lead of 78 runs. As per the stats, in the second innings, Pakistan got the target of 342 to chase to secure the win in the first matchup.
England managed to restrict the batting lineup of Pakistan at 268 runs by getting all the players out in the 96th over, and in the end, England secured the win by 74 runs margin in the first encounter between the two teams.
Both the world-class teams will face each other in the next test match starting from 9th December to 13th December with a 1-0 crucial lead in the series.
