The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Friday has issued notices to Former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) director general, Faiz Hamid, in a case of the removal of Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui as a judge of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
It is to be noted that, the Supreme Court has also issued notices to four other along with the Former ISI DG Hamid.
The notices were issued by the five member bench, which was led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, including Justice Aminuddin Khan, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi, and Justice Irfan Saadat while hearing an appeal filed by Siddiqui against his removal.
Notably, the three others, who were issued notices by the Supreme Court in this case are retired brigadiers, Irfan Ramay, former Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Anwar Khan Kasi, and former registrar of the Supreme Court, Arbab Muhammad Arif.
Considerably, Former Judge Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, through his counsel had nominated seven persons in his amended plea. However, the court stated that three others, which includes Former Chief of the Army staff, Qamar Javed Bajwa, and two retired brigadiers Faisal Marwat and Tahir Wafai, had no direct link with the case.
The amended application was moved by Senior Counsel Hamid Khan, on behalf of the former judge before the SC to name as respondents in his petition former army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa, former Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Faiz Hamid, three retired brigadiers, Irfan Ramay, Faisal Marwat and Tahir Wafai, including former chief justice of the IHC, Anwar Khan Kasi, and former registrar of SC, Arbab Muhammad Arif.
It is to be hereby mentioned that, the amended application were filed on behalf of former Judge Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and the senior Counsel Salahuddin Ahmed, representing the Islamabad High Court Bar Association and the Karachi Bar Association.
