Castries, Saint Lucia: Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia- Ernest Hilaire congratulated sprinter Julien Alfred for winning gold medals at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship, taken place in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Saturday, March 11, 2023.
He took to social media and hailed Julien Alfred for her outstanding performances at the NCAA and for becoming the champion in the 60M in 6.94s.
Notably, sprinter Alfred broke the collegiate 200M record with a time of 22.01s. She kept various records on her name as earlier she broke the record with the time of 6.97 seconds at the Big 12 conference championship. It was held two weeks ago in Lubbock, Texas.
Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia Ernest Hilaire cited, “Congratulations to our very own Julian Alfred on her outstanding performances at the NCAA and emerging as champion in the 60M in 6.94s.”
He added that moments later she broke the collegiate 200M record with a time of 22.01s. This is also the 6th collegiate record time that she has set for this season. Saint Lucia is proud of her. Further, Julien Alfred set the track on fire by breaking another record and becoming NCCA Champion.
While expressing pleasure, Julien Alfred stated, “Hard work, faith, trust God. Before coming out here I told God, whatever it takes, I’m gonna tell the world about You. Because of God, I’m here right now.”
The undisputed, undefeated 60m NCAA CHAMPION with a collegiate record time (6.94) for the SIXTH time this season, Julien Alfred.
