The officials of Pakistan and the Russian Federation on Tuesday has signed an agreement to continue the bilateral constructive engagement on regional issues including Afghanistan as well as cooperation at the multilateral for a including the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
The information about the above mentioned has been shared by the official spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.
It is to be noted that, the details shared by the spokesperson MoFA, added that, “At the invitation of Russian Deputy Foreign Minister A. Rudenko, Additional Foreign Secretary (Europe), Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan is on a visit to Moscow to hold consultations on bilateral and regional matters.”
During the meeting, the representatives of both the nations held talks on major subjects of concern, which includes the talks on bolstering the bilateral relations between the respective countries.
Notably, during the talks, the officials from both the sides positively assessed the level of bilateral cooperation mainly in the area of trade, energy and counter terrorism cooperation.
The two sides have also reached to an agreement to continue the constructive engagement on regional issues including Afghanistan as well as cooperation at the multilateral for a including the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
At the same time, the details about the visit of Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan to Moscow to hold talks on bilateral matters was also shared by the Embassy of Pakistan in Russia.
It is to be hereby specified that the bilateral relations between Russia and Pakistan have grown. The two countries have carried out their first ever joint military drills in 2016. Pakistan and Russia signed an agreement for the Pakistan Stream Gas Pipeline from Karachi to Kasur, and reached a price accord by December 2016.
From the time since Pakistan jointed the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, the relations between both sides have become closer. Moreover, the Russian President, Vladimir Putin also declared Pakistan as one of its primary partners in South Asia.
