Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, on Sunday, has reached Doha, Qatar to take part in the 5th meeting of the Conference of Less Developing Countries by the United Nations. After reaching Qatar, PM Sharif has also shared the photos of meeting with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Upon arrival, the Emir of Qatar has also extended welcome to PM Sharif in Qatar. Notably, PM Sharif has also shared the photos of the meeting with Emir of Qatar, along with the post, which reads as follows, “Just reached Doha, Qatar on invitation of my the Emir of Qatar brother Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, to attend the 5th UN Conference on Least Developed Countries (LDCs).”
He further added that, “I will share Pakistan’s perspective on socio-economic challenges facing LDCs in Asia & Africa. Least Developed nations have been badly affected by climate change, post-pandemic as well as geo-strategic disruption in food and energy supply chains. These global events have left them vulnerable.”
He mentioned that, “LDCs will be better served by putting public welfare at the centre of public policy.”
It is to be mentioned that, PM Sharif has also held meeting with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and also held discussions on the broad matters of mutual interests along with te ways to further enhancing and boosting the already established excellent cooperation between Pakistan and Qatar in other sectors, including economic and investment.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated Qatar’s continued support in Pakistan’s development plans and highlighted vast opportunities for enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
The Emir of Qatar appreciated the efforts of Pakistani hard workers in the development of Qatar and especially the outstanding performance of Pakistani security authorities on the successful holding of the FifaWorld Cup 2022 hosted by Qatar. He deepened in enhancing economic cooperation between Pakistan and Qatar and expressed interest. He reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment and continued full cooperation and support in Pakistan’s development agenda.
