The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, has led the laptop distribution ceremony under the Prime Minister Youth Program at the Jinnah Convention Center at Islamabad. It is to be noted that, Prime Minister Sharif has distributed 100,000 laptops to the students across Pakistan. PM Sharif distributed laptops among the students who demonstrated outstanding academic ability of various universities participating in the event.
During the ceremony, he has also made an address, in which PM Sharif said that, “The youth are the guarantee of the nation’s future and prosperity, I want every child to have a laptop and to distribute not one hundred thousand but one million laptops, nothing is better than investing in the youth.” .
He said that, “when I was Khadim Punjab, I distributed lakhs of laptops among the youth. Punjab Education Endowment Fund started providing educational scholarships to numerous students, many of them have become doctors, engineers and successful professionals today and are serving Pakistan. He said that one day a girl in Lahore while taking a laptop told me that her parents are not in this world but she wants to become a doctor.”
The Prime Minister said that, “the key to the bright future of the nation is in the hands of the youth. My heart wants to put a laptop in the hands of every youth. When the global epidemic of Kovid-19 came, the schools were closed. It was the laptop that gave the youth the means to equip them with a fine education and become successful professionals. According to the requirements of the modern age, every child of the nation who has knowledge and wants to work hard will cut his belly and provide a laptop. This laptop has also become a tool to enable millions of youth to earn employment. During the next one year, one lakh laptops will be distributed among the youth, for this money has been allocated in the budget. These laptops will not be given on any recommendation but purely on merit.”
PM Sharif said that, “5 billion rupees have been allocated for skilling the youth, apart from this, agricultural loans of 5 billion rupees will also be provided to the youth living in rural areas.”
During the address, he further revealed that, “The belief that the hard work of the youth will pay off and we will surpass the neighboring country in the field of IT and bring Pakistan back its lost position. He said that if I had my way, I would distribute not one lakh but one crore laptops among the youth because these laptops will become the source of development and prosperity of Pakistan.”
