The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday has presided over the progress review meeting on the ongoing reforms in the State-Owned-Enterprises (SOEs). The meeting revolved around the discussions on the progress of the ongoing reforms along with presenting the performance figures of the institutions including the corporations.
It is to be noted that the details about the meeting along with the glimpses were shared by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif over his official social media handle. In specific, the meeting was briefly informed that the process of reforms in the State Owned Enterprises is going on in a very speedy way. Whereas, in order to provide with the modern system and the best facilities, the involvement of the experts in the boards of these institutions will be ensured.
At the same time, during the meeting, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif said that the government of Pakistan is make efforts in taking the steps for ensuring the improvement of institutions in line with the international standards and the provision of the best facilities to the people. All efforts are being made for maintaining the continuity of national development. The government of Pakistan will be ensuring that the next caretaker government continues the policies of the national interests.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave the thorough instructions to prioritize the implementation of the reforms of the institutions that are causing losses to the national exchequer and to give central significance to the element of the transparency in the outsourcing of the services of the institution and the public-private partnership.
Considerably, Federal Ministers Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Syed Naveed Qamar, Makhdoom Murtaza Mehmood, Engineer Khuram Dastgir, Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Azam Nazir Tarar, Adviser to Prime Minister Ahad Khan Cheema, Special Assistants Jahanzeb Khan, Tariq Bajwa and relevant senior officials participated in the meeting.
