The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, on Saturday, has extended congratulations to Li Qiang on getting elected as the new Premier of China. The election of Li Qiang as the new Premier of China came following the Chinese Parliament has elected him as the country’s new Premier.
It is to be noted that newly elected Premier Li Qiang is a close aide of the Chinese President Xi Jinping. He will be succeeding Li Keqiang, who has held the position for the past ten years, overseeing the second largest economy in the world.
Notably, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, has taken it to his official social media handle to extend greetings to the newly elected Premier Li Qiang, adding that, “I extend my warm congratulations to Li Qiang on his election as new Premier of China.”
Alongside extending greetings to Premier Li Qiang, PM Sharif has also expressed confidence on the factor of working on the Strategic Cooperative Partnership between Pakistan and China. Noting to which, PM Sharif mentioned that, “Look forward to working closely with him to further advance Pakistan-China Strategic Cooperative Partnership. I am confident our bilateral relations will enter a new era of cooperation.”
Bilateral relations between Pakistan and China:
Pakistan has a long and firm ties with China. And moreover, the long standing bilateral ties between both the nations have been mutually beneficial. The state of Pakistan has extended support towards Pakistan on the major issues of significance to the latter, mainly on a lot of sensitive issues including human rights.
It is to be noted that China has also long-standing record of supporting Pakistan in several regional matters. The army of Pakistan also depends heavily on Chinese arms, and joint projects of both economic-military importance are going on.
Pakistan and China are also working on enhancing bilateral ties on several issues, involving working on establishing trade relations and other key issues as well.
