Over eight pieces of closed (APCs) vehicles were formally provided to Dera Ismail Khan and Bannu regions in an attempt to combat the rising terrorism and unrest. The following step came after the initiatives taken by the Inspector General of Police of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Akhtar Hayat Khan.
It is very much clear that the requirement of modern bulletproof vehicles to better and effectively deal with the growing threats of terrorism and protecting the lives of police officials was needed in the southern districts. There had been incidents of attacks on kidneys and police men risking their lives to extort them.
Notably, the Inspector General of Police, Akhtar Hayat Khan, has made an announcement about the delivery of APCs vehicles to the police there in the view of potential terrorism in the areas. In a meeting with the media representatives every day, they have reaffirmed their commitment in providing the armoured vehicles (APCs) to the following districts as soon as possible.
Moreover, it is to be mentioned that the police chief said in his statement that all is available to ensure peace and order in the southern districts as well as ensuring effective policing. The IGP further added that the police personnel in these districts had made huge sacrifices while discharging their duties, and police officers there have the right to do all they can to ensure law enforcement there.
At the same time, IGP Akhtar Hayat Khan, further added that the police personnel will be equipped with modern weapons and war equipments everywhere to deal with the terrorists. IGP has expressed hope that Dera Ismail Supply of APCs will be able to deal with terrorists more effectively.
It is noteworthy that six armoured vehicles (APCs) were handed over to the police of the annexed districts last week on the order of the IGP.
