Dominica: Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit extended his heartfelt pleasure to welcome Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar, Awad Abdullah, to the Commonwealth of Dominica on Friday, July 14, 2023.
As per the Update, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar, Awad Abdullah, visited the Commonwealth of Dominica earlier Yesterday to meet Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit.
During the meeting, they discuss strengthening the Bilateral Cooperation between the two nations, Dominica and Qatar and ways of enhancing them. Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit also took to his official social media handle recently and shared some glimpses from his meeting.
In his official Facebook caption, he added, “Earlier today, I received a courtesy call from His Excellency Awad Abdullah, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar. I welcomed His Excellency to Dominica, and we discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation between our two countries.”
Reportedly, on Thursday, July 13, 2023, the Foreign Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Venice Henderson, received a copy of the credentials of HE Yasser Awad Al Abdullah as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar (non-resident) to the Commonwealth of Dominica.
The State of Qatar is one of the Sovereign and independent States in the Middle East that has emerged as a significant state known for oil and gas production since its independence from Britain in 1971.
The State of Qatar is an Islamic State whose laws and customs follow the Islamic tradition. Since 2013, the country has been governed by HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani.
Prime Minister Skerrit has clearly emphasised Dominica’s relationship with the State of Qatar to establish active collaboration and collective development between the two nations.
