Roseau, Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit expressed pleasure in welcoming his old friends Jennifer Blanc and her daughter Claudia Douglas, who returned to Dominica from Boston on Friday. Minister for Housing- Melissa Skerrit was also present at the prime minister’s office to welcome the two ladies.
While sharing the glimpses on Facebook, PM Roosevelt Skerrit also expressed pleasure in welcoming his friends. He stated that both the ladies had expressed pleasure to return back in Dominica and experienced the vibrant beauty of the nature isle.
He said, “I had a lovely visit this week with a dear friend, Jennifer Blanc and her daughter Claudia Douglas, who are here from Boston.”
While exchanging ideas with two ladies, PM, Roosevelt Skerrit stated that these two ladies had expressed their pleasure in witnessing the significant development of Dominica. They also extended gratitude to PM Roosevelt Skerrit for the overall development of the Nature Isle and stated that this is due to the prime minister and his government that the country has been tackling climate change effectively.
During the meeting, PM Roosevelt Skerrit’s friends lauded the government of Dominica and its citizens for maintaining the magnificent natural beauty of the country.
The meeting was also attended by Cassanni Laville (Parliamentary representative from Mauhuat constituency), and the prime minister also received a gift from the two ladies. PM Roosevelt Skerrit added, “It was a pleasure exchanging ideas with the two ladies, who are thrilled to be visiting home. Special thanks to Blanc for her most thoughtful gift.”
PM Roosevelt Skerrit is committed to uplifting diplomatic relations. Recently, he welcomed UN Resident Coordinator for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, Didier Trebucq, in Dominica.
He was accompanied by Dr Renata Clarke, FAO Sub-regional Coordinator; Laura Hildebrandt, UNDP Head of Dominica Project Office; and Marlon Marie, UN Country Coordination Officer for Dominica.
