Roseau, Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit extended greetings to Dominican cricketer Alick Athanaze on his selection to the West Indies test side. He will be played in the West Indies Cycle Pure Agarbathi Test Series, powered by Yes Bank.
The matches will be held between West Indies and India at Windsor Park Sports Stadium in Dominica. The series will be started on July 12, 2023, and end on July 16, 2023.
Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit took to Facebook and extended congratulations to Alick Athanaze. He said that his selection became an inspiration and news of happiness for the entire nation.
He said that the entire nation welcomed the selection, and they are happy that the selectors have decided to include him on the team. PM Skerrit said that the opportunity will enhance the Westinese and their supporting skills. He also congratulated him and urged Dominica to come out to watch him next week.
PM Roosevelt Skerrit invited the public to come and watch the West Indies cricket match. He said that the performance will enhance the sporting activities in Dominica and would be a great day for the Nature Isle.
Along with that, the Ministry of Tourism of Dominica extended greetings to the cricketers and said that the selection had taken the name of the country to new heights.
The Ministry said, “Exciting News Alert! West Indies has just unveiled their squad for the thrilling first match of the Cycle Pure Agarbathi Test Series, powered by Yes Bank, against India! Get ready for an unforgettable showdown at Windsor Park in Dominica from 12th to 16th July.”
Further, the tourism ministry said that the team of the West Indies have some fresh talent joining them. He said that they recently appointed as Dominica’s Sports Ambassador, left-hander Alick Athanaze is the uncapped player in the squad, with fellow left-handed batter Kirk McKenzie.”
