The Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwar ul Haq Kakar, on Wednesday held official meeting with the Board of Governors of Special Technology Zones Authority. This is the fifth meeting called by PM Kakar of the Board of Governors.
The meeting took place in the capital city of Islamabad and the details about it was shared by the Caretaker PM Kakar via his official social media handle.
Alongside, PM Kakar, also shared the glimpses of the meeting. While sharing the words with the participants of the meeting, PM Kakar, said that, “The IT sector can play a key role in the economy of the nation. Pakistan has a lot of potential to develop in the field of the information technology.”
He made directions to the officials that the necessary policies should be made for attracting IT experts from all across the world to Pakistan for the development as well as promotion of information technology in Pakistan.
Caretaker PM Kakar, further said that, “The government of Pakistan is taking steps for the foreign investment in the IT sector and there has been positive progress in this regard.”
At the same time, several issues related to the Special Technology Zones Authority were also part of the discussion during the meeting.
It is to be added that, the meeting ratified the decisions of the fourth meeting of the Board of Governors of the Special Technology Zones Authority. The meeting has approved the restructuring of the Budget Finance, Audit and Technical Committees of the Board of Governors of the Special Technology Zones Authority. Moreover, the meeting has also approved the submission of the drafts of the Authority’s Licensing Framework, Authority Procedures and Fee Regulations to the Technical Committee.
Federal Secretaries Cabinet, Finance, Information Technology, Science and Technology, Chief Secretaries of all four provinces and other board members participated in the meeting.
