Lahore police, in its crackdown on criminals, have nabbed 15,853 proclaimed offenders, court absconders and targeted offenders in the year 2022 so far.
During the address, Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) DIG Bilal Siddique Kamyana has stated out of these criminals, 5,270 were POs, 3, 323 targeted offenders and 7, 260 were court absconders.
Accordingly, the police have nabbed 830 POs of category ‘A’ & 4,440 of category ‘B’. Furthermore, police have detained over 109 court absconders of category ‘A’ and 7,151 of category ‘B’.
The CCPO added the Lahore police had devised a unique strategy to nab the POs as most of them were found part of heinous & hardcore crimes, including illegal possessions, murders, the attempt of murder, kidnapping for ransom, extortion, drugs dealing and rape.
The CCPO has directed all divisional SPs, SDPOs and SHOs to meet the targets by capturing these criminals as the overall performance of cops would be evaluated after assessing their achieved targets. The CCPO also ordered the completion of the computerised record of these criminals and made coordinated efforts to nab them.
