An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore has extended the pre-arrest bails of the former PTI leaders Asad Umar and the former Prime Minister, Imran Khan’s sisters, Uzma Khan and Aleema Khan in the number of cases that are linked to May 9 riots..
The extended date announced by the Lahore ATC is February 10, 2024. It is to be noted that, the arrest of PTI Leader Imran Khan on May 9 in the Al Qadir Trust Case had resulted in igniting violence within nation.
The violence had turned into a threat upon national security. Considering which, the state had launched a crackdown against his party members.
From then on, majority of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) workers and senior leaders were picked up and are still facing court cases under serious charges.
The sisters of Imran Khan appeared before court on Tuesday. Following this, Lahore ATC had extended their bails until February 10.
While addressing the concerns on the case, Aleema Khan, outside the court premises, said that, “The end of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif’s lifetime disqualification was part of the London plan. A day earlier, the Supreme Court had nullified the lifetime disqualification for the lawmakers under the Article 62(1)(f) of the Constitution, effectively rendering Nawaz free to contest the elections.
During the address, she added that her brother (Imran Khan) had already informed the country of this plan around one and a half year ago. She made a claim that an agreement was inked in London, where Nawaz had spent around four years in self-exile and the current situation is just playing as per the script.
While talking about Imran Khan, Aleema Khan said that she is having complete faith in the judicial system of the country. She added that, “the justice will be delivered very soon and a wave of happiness would be spread throughout the nation if Imran was given justice.”
