Dominica: In a big expose, it was revealed that UWP worker Trevor “Tossy” Johnson attempted extortion on Montreal Management Consultants Est (MMCE) and its CEO, Anthony Haiden for personal gains through defamation on social media. The opposition was also alleged to be involving OCCRP and The Guardian in their narrative to defame Dominica.
The extortionist has been using fear and intimidation to threaten Haiden and MMCE for the last five years, as confessed by him in his viral audio. Trevor has employed various platforms, such as social media and blog sites, to perpetrate these attacks.
It was revealed that a UWP worker approached Haiden to become MMCE’s PR consultant and make amends. He demanded USD 20,000 – USD 25,000 per month for this. In the discussion, Trevor admitted that he had been attacking Haiden and said that he was sure Haiden could afford the huge amount even if he asked for USD 100,000 a month.
“I know it’s a big deal, I know it’s a big deal. I know he’s making tons of money; we know that… I know he could afford it – if I even ask for USD 100,000 a month. I’m sure he could afford point-blank, right? That is for the five, for the five years or more I have been attacking him. So, he knows my worth… I think a certain demand would be even acceptable,” said Trevor in a viral audio clip.
After Haiden’s refusal to comply with Johnson’s demands, he continued to defame and spread false information on the internet. Johnson also persisted in trying to engage Haiden in business opportunities in Trinidad and Guyana by sending hundreds of WhatsApp messages, pleading to establish business relationships and claiming that he had “every possible path to engage Haiden in business”. Trevor often hinted that Haiden and MMCE needed a PR expert like him to avoid further failure.
Led by former leader Lennox Linton, the Opposition has hired a group of “investigative journalists” with Trevor as the coordinator. This strategy includes using social media and collaborating with OCCRP editors, Brian Fitzpatrick and Antonio Baquero. Hayden is one of the individuals contacted by OCCRP and provided answers to their questions, attempting to officially set the records straight.
In addition to these tactics, Trevor has been continuously attacking on social media. Confirmation of the Opposition hiring these journalists was obtained from a private conversation with a former insider and former Member of Parliament of the UWP.
Furthermore, Trevor revealed himself by sending Haiden WhatsApp messages, admitting that he was controlling the journalists. He even offered himself as PR to Haiden and MMCE, but received no response.
The opposition politics in the Commonwealth of Dominica and their funding networks are using hired goons such as Trevor for political gains on social media to spread baseless claims against Haiden, MMCE, and its networks, with the aim of hindering Dominica’s economic development.
The main objective of Opposition in Dominica is to undermine the country’s well-regarded Citizenship by Investment Programme. Their tactics involve attacking the government and its partners, such as MMCE and Haiden, which could result in the country’s economic downfall. The Opposition is willing to sacrifice the country’s stability and well-being to achieve their goals.
Investigation suggests malicious media terrorism being conducted by the opposition to undermine the livelihood of a small island nation for the sake of political and personal gains.
