The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, on Sunday, has expressed greetings to the people of Pakistan. He took it to his official social media handle, adding that, “I congratulate the entire nation on the beginning of the new year.”
While extending the wishes, PM Sharif added that, ” It is my prayer that the sun of 2023 will rise with the good news of progress and prosperity for our country Pakistan. May the new year be a new start in our individual and collective lives by correcting the mistakes of the past year in which we forget the sorrows of the past and start a new and brighter future.”
He further stated that, “I also pray that there will be positive progress in the new year to overcome the economic, political and law and order crises that the world faced in 2022. May this new year be the year of ending hunger, war, terrorism, crime, sectarianism & class division from the whole world, including Pakistan.”
He also noted that, “Last year, Watan-e-Aziz faced many difficulties. In the wider interest of Pakistan’s economy and people, when we took over the government by adopting the constitutional path, an attempt was made to create a constitutional crisis and chaos in the country.”
During the address, PM Sharif mentioned about the government’s efforts to save the country’s economy from bankruptcy, “In order to save the country’s economy from bankruptcy, the coalition government worked day and night to control the situation while sacrificing its politics for national security and with the grace of Allah. We were quite successful in that.”
“At the same time, due to climate change, the worst flood situation occurred in the country, which killed hundreds of people, injured thousands, affected more than 30 million people in total, and cost a developing country like Pakistan 30 billion financially,” stated PM Sharif.
While acknowledging this thing, PM Sharif said that, “As a servant of Pakistan, I supervised the relief of the flood victims and tried to ease their pain by going to the people surrounded by grief. Every official of the coalition government, including me, took the call of the flood victims to the corners of the world.”
During the address, PM Sharif has also pledged to ensure the improvement of the country’s economic situation, including the rehabilitation of the flood victims, along with the end of terrorism, as well as the reduction of the sufferings of the people.
He added that, “In 2023, we all have to work together to make Pakistan the cradle of development, prosperity and peace.”
At the same time, PM Sharif highlighted that, “Come, at the beginning of the new year, let us promise that we will not hesitate to make any sacrifice to make this country the Pakistan of Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Iqbal. This country is the trust of our people, we will unite our blood and sweat in its protection and development. Long live Pakistan!”
