Following the news potential Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) candidate Abdullah Mumtaz Kahloon went missing from Islamabad International Airport after his arrival from abroad, the Islamabad High Court has issued notice to trace him with the help of CCTV footage.
It is to be noted that, Abdullah Mumtaz Kahloon had filed the nomination papers for contesting the elections from PP-76 Sargodha. He was allegedly picked up from the airport despite securing a protective bail from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in a case lodged against him in Sargodha.
Despite the orders from the court, the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court, Aamer Farooq took up the petition against his detention.
The petition which was filed by his counsel, Babar Awan, stated that Kahloon had obtained the protective bail and was set to appear before the high court.
He added that, his client landed at the Islamabad airport, where some of the unknown men wearing tracksuits picked him up and took him into the custody from the immigration counter.
After hearing the initial arguments, Justice Farooq adjourned the hearing for the same day and issued notice to the federation. Later by, Additional Attorney General, Barrister Munawar Iqbal Duggal appeared before the court and said that, Kahloon had escaped from the immigration counter.
Justice Farooq added that, a petitioner could not escape once the court had granted him bail. He pointed out that there was a system in a place at every airport and it was not possible for any individual to dodge various checks.
He made directions to the FIA to check and examine the CCTV footage and sought a report on Wednesday.
It is to be hereby mentioned that, such incidents before the February 8 general elections will likely to poison up the situation across the nation. The authorities in Pakistan are asked to remain vigilant to evade any of the situation like this.
