St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew hosted the Annual Scholarship Ceremony “Caring Hands Supporting Our Children” at the National Heroes Park.
In the ceremony, around 63 scholarships were presented to students in both primary and secondary schools within his constituency.
PM Terrance Drew took to Facebook and said, “Yesterday I held my Annual Scholarship Ceremony, “Caring Hands Supporting Our Children,” at the National Heroes Park, where 63 scholarships were presented to students in both primary and secondary schools within my constituency.”
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew continued his investment in the educational development of the nation’s youth with the presentation of sixty-three (63) scholarships to students within his constituency attending primary and secondary schools.
The Prime Minister’s annual scholarship ceremony, dubbed “Caring Hands Supporting Our Children,” was held at the National Heroes’ Park in Conaree on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
The event represented another example of Prime Minister Dr. Drew’s commitment to ensuring that every child has access to quality education.
Each year, PM Terrance Drew award scholarships to at least twelve students from various schools, but yesterday he launched her official scholarship programme dedicated to students within his constituency.
“I am committed to the academic advancement of our youth and to seeking avenues to continue to invest in our future generation. I firmly believe that every child should have access to quality education,”said the prime minister.
Scholarships were awarded to seven (7) nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis to pursue studies in areas that include Geographic Information Systems, Environmental Land Management and Sustainable Land Management, as part of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) National Project – “Improving Environmental Management through Sustainable Land Management”.
The project is a five-year initiative that seeks to transform degraded forest landscapes into biodiversity and climate-friendly areas of sustainable agricultural production.
It is being executed by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and implemented by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) through the Ministry of Sustainable Development.
