Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with the delegation of Barrack Rico Deck Mining Company headed by Chief Executive Officer Mark Bristow.
PM Sharif, during the meeting, has directed to set up a project support team for the implementation of the Ricodeck project. PM Sharif added that all the relevant departments should fulfil their responsibility for implementation of the project.
Meanwhile, during the meeting, the Prime Minister was told that over seventy per cent of the people working on the project belong to Balochistan. The company in Rico Deck has set up a school in cooperation with the Community Development Committee on the area.
It is to be mentioned that work is in progress regarding the supply of clean drinking water and the provision of health facilities, alternative energy is being used in the project.
Notably, PM Sharif has also praised the ongoing work of the Barrack Rico Deck Mining Company regarding corporate social responsibility. He also encouraged the company to work with the government in setting up Danish schools across Balochistan.
During the meeting with the delegation, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that, “there are immense opportunities for investment in the sectors of mining, information technology, energy, communications and infrastructure in Pakistan. The government is taking steps to provide all possible facilities to investors in the country. Especially in many areas of Pakistan. Balochistan is rich in minerals, the government is working on priority basis to take full advantage of these natural resources. The recent agreement with regard to the Rico Dec project will be beneficial to both parties. The Rico Dec project proves to be a game changer for Balochistan. Will happen and will be the beginning of a new era of development.”
Federal Minister for Finance and Productions Ishaq Dar, Advisor to Prime Minister Ahad Cheema, Minister of State for Petroleum Musadaq Malik, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Jahanzeb Khan and relevant top government officials were present in the meeting.
