The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, on Monday has congratulated the people of the nation on the completion of the 50 years of the Constitution of Pakistan, which was enacted and adopted in 1973.
While extending congratulations, PM Sharif has also paid homage and respect to all the leaders and parliamentarians who have contributed in framing the Constitution of Pakistan. Noting to which, PM Sharif said that, “I congratulate the nation on the completion of 50 years of the Constitution of Pakistan 1973 and pay homage to all the leaders, parties and parliamentarians who gave the gift of the constitution.”
Along with this, he also paid tribute to the people who have played a vital role in strengthening of the Constitution, in which, PM Sharif said that, “We also pay tribute to all those respectable personalities who have increased the dignity as well as sanctity of the Constitution in fifty years and played a role in its strengthening. The Constitution of Pakistan 1973 is the essence of the vision of the Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal and the founders of Pakistan. From 10 April 1973 to today, the Constitution of Pakistan has kept the nation united.”
It is to be noted that, PM Sharif highlighted that, “Constitution is the agreed civil agreement of all nations living in Pakistan and is the mother of all state institutions. Despite tragedies, accidents and conspiracies, the Constitution has maintained its existence.”
Along with this, he also mentioned about the contribution made by Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, adding that, “Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was also the architect of the Constitution and also sacrificed his life for it. Special salute to Benazir Bhutto and Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, who played historic role for the uplifting, protecting as well as promoting the Constitution.”
At the same time, he added that, “It is a beautiful coincidence of history that while celebrating the Golden Jubilee of the Constitution, Constitution, democracy & people-friendly parties are in power in the country. The Golden Jubilee of the Constitution has come at a time when for first time in history all the parties have come together to throw out the vote-stealing selected imposing group from power with the power of the Constitution.”
“The Constitution is the protector & guide of Pakistan, it will be protected even with death. We will increase the power and glory of the Constitution by making the country independent and making the lives of the people easier,” said PM Sharif.
