The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif on Friday has taken part in the forty-first (41) meeting of the National Security Council. During the meeting, Federal ministers, Chairman Joint Chief of the Staff Committee, Service Chiefs and other senior officials have taken part in the meeting hosted by PM Sharif.
It is to be mentioned that the meeting was held in the continuation of the National Security Committee meeting which was held following the terrorist attack on January 2, 2023 in the Kupshawar Police Lines.
The meeting has noted on comprehensive national security in which the relief of people was key issue as well as informed the forum that the government was taking measures in this regard.
Notably, the meeting acknowledged the sacrifices as well as efforts of the security forces for providing lasting peace to the country. The forum recalled its commitment to continue its activities till the finish of terrorism from Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the Committee termed the recent spate of terrorism as a result of a soft corner and reckless policy with the TTP (a terrorist organisation) which is completely contrary to the public expectations & aspirations, resulting in not only were the terrorists allowed to return unhindered, but dangerous TTP terrorists were also released from the jails in the name of confidence building.
In addition, the meeting also put focus on result of the support given by the returning dangerous terrorists as well as various terrorist organizations present in big numbers in Afghanistan, the peace and stability in the country was disrupted which was the result of countless sacrifices & continuous efforts.
Moreover, the meeting agreed for launching an all-out comprehensive operation with the entire country and the government, which will rid the nation of the scourge of terrorism with renewed vigor as well as determination.
In the meeting, the successful operation of Moqtadar Intelligence Agency was greatly appreciated. It is to be noted in which they detained one of the most wanted terrorist Gulzar Imam alias Shambe, who was the founder as well as leader of terrorist Baloch National Army and ‘Brass’ & was involved in various terrorist activities for a long time.
The Committee strongly condemns efforts to spread externally sponsored toxic propaganda against state institutions & their leadership over the social media under the guise of ulterior motives and divide the increasing hatred in the society & said it affects security of the nation.
Recalling the determination to thwart the nefarious intentions of the enemies of the nation, the committee added that all the possible efforts will be made for maintaining the peace & order achieved by the great sacrifices as well as continuous efforts of the martyrs.
